The story first appeared in Topolino 1411 on 19/12/1982, divided into three parts, concluding in issue 1413 on December 26th, celebrating Christmas and offering a story with a Christmas spirit to the readers of the time. In the following two years, also during the Christmas holidays, two more episodes followed: Mickey Mouse and the Tournament of Argaar in 1983 and Mickey Mouse and the return of the โPrince of Mistsโ in 1984, forming what would be defined and often remembered as the Trilogy of the Sword of Ice.
In January 1993, approximately 10 years later, a fourth chapter titled Mickey Mouse and Sleeping Beauty in the Cosmos was published, also by De Vita, this time assisted by Fabio Michelini for the texts.
Thus we arrive at Wednesday, November 30, 2022, with the release in newsstands and comic shops of Topolino 3497, which features the first of four parts of Mickey Mouse and the legend of the Sword of Ice titled โA Land Without Heroes,โ a story written by Marco Nucci with drawings and inks by Cristian Canfailla and colored by the Maaw Illustration Art Team of Angela Capolupo and Michela Frare. The fascinating cover is by Andrea Freccero, artistic supervisor of the weekly, with colors by the skilled and proven Andrea Cagol.
