Dylan Dog no. 463 – "You shouldn't be here"

03/28/2025

Violet is tormented by constant déjà vu, convinced that she was subjected to illegal experiments during therapy for a brain tumor. She turns to Dylan Dog to shed light on the truth. Meanwhile, mysterious, nightmarish deaths are rocking the city. Dylan investigates, unaware that he is being watched by those who guard a truth capable of redefining the boundary between dream and reality.

In this issue, Barbara Baraldi gives Davide Furnò the opportunity to express himself with an excellent mix of genres, moving from the dreamlike to the horror, from the metaphysical to the hallucinatory. Although the basic idea of the story—about déjà vu as residual traces of "too dangerous" dreams erased by a secret organization—might seem intriguing, the narrative lacks true force and turns out to be rather unfocused.

The real strength of this issue is undoubtedly the artistic talent of Furnò, who delivers exceptional plates. However, the plot feels empty, with episodic events that fail to engage and secondary characters who add nothing to the story. In this context, Dylan Dog appears more reckless and dogmatic than ever, while Groucho offers uninspired jokes to the client, Violet.
