Dylan Dog 481: il Blind Pack del 40° anniversario! 🎁🦇 Quale copertina troverai?

Dylan Dog 481: the 40th-anniversary Blind Pack! 🎁🦇 Which cover will you find?

Dylan Dog turns 40 and celebrates with a truly special edition.
But this time there's an extra surprise: the new issue 481, “Prima che sia l’alba” (Before Dawn), arrives in an unprecedented Blind Pack, just like a mystery box from the world of collecting.

And there's only one question:

👀 Which cover will you find?

Issue 481 will be available from September 26, 2026 and, in addition to being a celebratory full-color comic book, it will be distributed in a special opaque and sealed bag that completely conceals the cover. Only after opening it will it be possible to discover which of the four versions you received.

🎁 What is a Blind Pack?

If you've never encountered this term in the world of collecting, the concept is very simple.

A Blind Pack is a sealed package containing a surprise item: before opening, you don't know which variant you'll find.

It's the same principle as so-called mystery boxes or random content packs: the packaging doesn't allow you to choose the subject or variant, and this randomness transforms the opening into a real hunt for a rare piece.

In the case of Dylan Dog 481, however, the formula becomes even more interesting because the four covers do not all have the same distribution frequency.

So yes: you can buy a Blind Pack hoping to find the rarest cover… but the surprise is only revealed when the bag is opened! 🔥

🦇 Four covers, four great artists

Inside the Blind Pack, you can find one of the four covers created by great names in Dylan Dog's history:

1️⃣ Gianluca and Raul Cestaro – Main Cover

This is the regular cover of the comic book.

2️⃣ Claudio Villa – RARE Variant

One of the first real treats for collectors, with a distribution of approximately 1 copy every 4.

3️⃣ Corrado Roi – VERY RARE Variant

Here the hunt becomes decidedly more difficult: approximately 1 copy every 40.

4️⃣ Angelo Stano – ULTRA RARE Variant

And here we are at the real "jackpot" of the Blind Pack: Angelo Stano's cover is indicated with a distribution of approximately 1 copy every 400.

📊 The hunt for the rarest cover

And this is precisely the mechanism that makes the initiative special.

Cover Indicative frequency
Gianluca & Raul Cestaro Main Cover
Claudio Villa approx. 1 in 4
Corrado Roi approx. 1 in 40
Angelo Stano approx. 1 in 400

The proportions are those communicated for the distribution of the Blind Pack; naturally, they do not mean that every single package or batch must mathematically adhere to these proportions.

But the concept is very clear: finding Angelo Stano's cover will be much more difficult than the regular one or Claudio Villa's variant.

And this is where the Blind Pack meets the world of blind boxes, mystery boxes, and chase variants: the collector isn't just looking for the comic book, but trying to discover which version is hidden in the package.

🕵️ “Before Dawn”: the story of issue 481

Naturally, behind the surprise packaging is still a real Dylan Dog comic book.

The title is “Prima che sia l’alba” (Before Dawn) and the story revolves around a mysterious diary that Dylan finds in his library.

The problem?

Dylan doesn't remember ever writing it, yet those pages seem incredibly familiar.

An object apparently linked to the past thus becomes the beginning of a new story with the typical atmospheres of the Nightmare Investigator, amidst memory, mystery, and unease.

And to celebrate Dylan Dog's 40th anniversary, the comic will be presented entirely in color and in this new special packaging.

🎨 Four artists who made Dylan Dog's history

The choice of the four artists is not accidental.

Gianluca and Raul Cestaro, Claudio Villa, Corrado Roi, and Angelo Stano represent four moments and four important interpretations of Dylan Dog's imagery.

Bonelli emphasizes the artists' connection to the character's editorial history: from the Cestaros, the current cover artists for the monthly series, to Villa, Roi, and Stano, names closely linked to different eras of the Nightmare Investigator's covers.

This is why the Blind Pack is not just an original way to distribute the comic: it is also a tribute to 40 years of Dylan Dog's graphic history.

🔥 The real star? The surprise!

Imagine the scene.

You pick up the bag.

You can't see the cover.

You know that inside there could be the regular one, Claudio Villa's variant, Corrado Roi's much rarer one, or the ultra-rare Angelo Stano.

And then... you open it.

This is precisely the appeal of the Blind Pack.

You don't know what you've found until you break the mystery.

For a collector, there's also another possibility: trying to collect all four covers.

And this is where a normal monthly release can turn into a real collecting challenge.

🦇 Dylan Dog 481: an appointment to mark

So, September 26, 2026 brings a very special Dylan Dog.

A celebratory issue for the Nightmare Investigator's 40th anniversary, a new story, a completely full-color comic book, four covers signed by great artists, and above all, packaging that transforms the purchase into a small mystery collection experience.

The Dylan Dog 481 Blind Pack is certainly one of the most curious initiatives related to the fortieth anniversary.

And for collectors, the question will remain until the very end:

🎁 “Which cover will I find?”

Regular?
Claudio Villa?
Corrado Roi?

Or perhaps the ultra-rare Angelo Stano 1/400? 👀

The bag is sealed. The surprise is inside. The hunt has begun.
