Do you remember the Skifidol Figumatte? The 2008 collection that is vintage today.
For many, they were simply one of the many packets to buy at the newsstand. Today, after almost twenty years, the Skifidol Figumatte have become a small collectible memory of the 2000s.
The series, published by Gedis, consisted of 150 Figumatte to collect, all characterized by the absurd and irreverent humor typical of the Skifidol world.
A curiosity about the date
On the Figumatte still found on the market today, the wording Ed. Gedis 2008 often appears, while some specialized catalogs classify the collection in the year 2009.
A small difference that makes the series even more curious for those trying to reconstruct the history of old newsstand collections.
How much are they worth today?
There is no official pricing for Figumatte and the value depends primarily on condition, completeness, and original packaging.
Individual Figumatte are generally offered online today for a few euros: for example, you can find specimens for sale at around 2-3 euros each.
Complete or well-preserved material is more interesting. A 2008 album with 98 out of 150 total Figumatte was offered for about 80/90 euros.
But for collectors, one of the most fascinating things remains the original packet still sealed.
Is it better to open it or leave it sealed?
Out of nostalgia, the temptation to open it is strong.
From a collector's point of view, however, a packet that has remained sealed since 2008 has something extra: it preserves the product exactly as it appeared on newsstands almost twenty years ago.
And that is exactly what makes these little Skifidol packets a curious piece of Italian newsstand history today.
On EdicolaOnline, it is still possible to find an original sealed 2008 Skifidol Figumatte packet.
The question, at this point, is only one:
would you have the courage to open it after almost twenty years?
