When Cannavacciuolo became Chef Paperacciuolo
In 2018, Antonino Cannavacciuolo also entered the world of Topolino, transforming into the charming Chef Paperacciuolo.
The famous chef appears on the cover of Topolino no. 3257, released on April 25, 2018, in an instantly recognizable Disney version: beard, chef's uniform, and, of course, his signature “pat” on the back.
The cover was created by master artist Giorgio Cavazzano.
Inside the issue, Cannavacciuolo also becomes the protagonist of the story “Agente Speciale Ciccio – Uno Chef da Sogno” (“Special Agent Gus – A Dream Chef”), where he joins Gus Goose in an adventure filled with cooking, mystery, and fun.
But this issue hides another interesting curiosity for collectors.
On the occasion of the Napoli Comicon 2018, which celebrated the event's 20th anniversary, a variant cover of Topolino 3257 was also produced, also signed by Cavazzano, featuring Donald Duck and Fethry Duck dressed as Pulcinella.
There are therefore two particularly recognizable versions of the same issue: the newsstand edition with Chef Paperacciuolo and the variant dedicated to the Napoli Comicon.
A small curiosity that makes Topolino no. 3257 an interesting issue not only for Disney fans, but also for those who enjoy collecting issues linked to famous personalities and special events.
