👀 Did you know that Labubu weren't originally toys?
The Labubu characters were created by Hong Kong illustrator Kasing Lung, author of illustrated books and stories with a fairytale and slightly dark tone.
The character is part of a narrative universe called The Monsters, populated by mysterious and dreamy creatures.

🧸 The boom thanks to Pop Mart
Worldwide success came when the Chinese brand Pop Mart turned Labubu into collectible designer toys, primarily sold in blind boxes.
And it's precisely the "mystery" mechanism of the blind box that has captivated collectors.
🎨 Each series has a different theme
There are many versions of Labubu:
- Pirate Labubu
- Fairy Tale Labubu
- Halloween Edition
- Christmas Edition
- Glitter, flocked, transparent versions
Some limited editions reach very high prices on the secondary market.
😈 Cute or unsettling?
One of Labubu's peculiarities is its expression:
big eyes, a mischievous smile with pointed teeth... a perfect mix of adorable and slightly creepy.
It is precisely this contrast that has captivated adult audiences.

🌍 A global phenomenon
Although it originated in Asia, Labubu is now very popular:
- among European collectors
- in social groups dedicated to designer toys
- at comic and pop culture conventions
In some cities, Pop Mart stores have very long queues on the release days of new series.
